Something WICKED This Way Comes!

So remember how I blogged that I never received my tickets to WICKED?  AND, remember how ticked off I was about it?  AND remember how my credit card was already charged and I hadn't received my tickets?  Well, I had received them.  I just forgot!  I FORGOT!!!  If you would have told me that I had received them and that I had just forgotten and misplaced them, I would have called you the "L" word.  That's right!  LIAR!

Yet, I did receive them, apparently ten days after my wonderful hubby spent 5 HOURS working the phone and the internet to get me those precious tickets.  And, to show my appreciation, I hid them in my stack of magazines that I order but never read.  I just collect them until the dust builds on them, the pile becomes cumbersome and then I toss them in the trash. (Please don't even start with me about recycling.  There are no places around here that recycle magazines and I am not about to start a project that takes in magazines.  Although, the dumpster that has been in my front yard for the past 2 years might appear to have something to do with recycling it does not.  That is merely there for decoration.  J/K!!!  It is part of the remodel project that has been dragging on far too long...sigh...but I digress.)

But before tossing the magazines this time, I decided to look at the covers one last time.  Kind of like a final farewell.  I wanted to see for myself what "Easy Dinner" I wouldn't be preparing for my family.  I just wanted to peek at the  "You Too Can Organize Your Home" article.  Seriously, they pick the nicest home that needs no work to begin with and then they "organize" it.  BLAHHH!

Come to my house where the magazines are almost stacked to the ceiling because I order so many for the recipes and the organizational articles.  Come to my house where as I wish and pine and toss the magazines in the trash one by one, I stumble across an envelope.  A very special envelope.  An envelope I forgot existed!  AN ENVELOPE WITH FOUR WICKED TICKETS!!!!!

And BTW, the fourth ticket is spoken for.  Brenda, you are welcome!

Oh I am so glad you found your tickets!

I'm glad you found them BEFORE the play. That would have been horrible if you had found them after it was over! I hope you enjoy it :o)

Ha Ha Ha......Sorry but that just cracks me up, all that ranting and raving for nothing! Have fun and tell Brenda Hi:)

Well, I'll be! And here I didn't even know they were lost. That one day of novel writing has a lot to answer for--the loss of my brain, for one.

Thanks Swirl and Jennifer! I'm glad I found them too! It would be sad to sit outside the theatre and try to catch sounds of the play!

Jen-good luck on Mon! And more goodluck with a name for that baby!

Sandi-can't you just picture me going off cause I can't find something...and I even had Drew CALL THEM because we didn't get the tickets yet! HOW embarASSing! But I am so glad I found them!

Heidi! When you miss one day in blogging world time it's like a hundred days in real world time! Didn'tcha know???? And it's not as much fun without you around either!

I'm glad you found them!

Is this for the show in SLC?

April said...

It is for the SLC show! I am sooo excited!!! I will have to travel from "Dixie" to get there....but that's an easy drive for a show I've been dying to see since the first time I listened to the soundtrack!!! Can you tell I'm excited????

Woohoo! Yippee! Way to go. I once threw away so pictures I really wanted when I cleaned out some old magazines.

And don't you think that is why you have google so all those articles will just stay in your computer instead of cluttering up your house.

And congrats to Brenda. She is one lucky gal.

And do you mean to say that the pooped in target is just 120 miles from me?

why are tossing perfectly good magazines in the trash??? bring them to me so they can clutter up my home. Brett will thank you (curse you) for it!!! That way I can go thru them and look for recipes to add to my binder that I will never make but will just look through longingly at. BTW just noticed the time for WICKED ... did you tell me it was going to be in the middle of the afternoon and that I would have to make arrangements for all four of my kids???? still can't wait to go!!!

The one and only Target in town!!! I think I will throw up in my mouth every time I walk in there now! (As well as scour the floor with my eyes....my eyes will probably never leave the floor from now on!!!) EWWWWW!!!!!

Toad-Quit whining about the tickets, or I will find someone else who wants to sit by themselves! :)

I have thrown ou tchecks, tickets, etc by "cleaning up". So glad you found them!

Yay - maybe there's still hope for my ring (but not with the magazines - I only kept one subscription this year!)

I still haven't been back to Target thanks to all of this talk... maybe if carefully skirt the edges as far from the bathroom? Maybe if I walk in with Clorox wipes taped to the bottom of my shoes?

Oh my gosh! Have fun! I need to go see it. I really need to get my butt back into NYC and just see it finally.

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

Yes Alyson, get your behind up there and see that wicked awesome show that is Wicked. I promise you will not regret it. Have you already listened to the soundtrack? You might enjoy it more if you do.

Thanks for coming Support Blog...my prayers are with you for your son!

Kazzy, I'm so glad I found them too! They were willing to reissue tickets, but I'm glad I did find them!

Poor T! Was it your wedding ring??? I hope it wasn't your wedding ring! Please tell me it wasn't!! I am going to have to disinfect my person after walking into the "PT" (Poop Target) from now on!

Alyson...I am SOOOOOO jealous that you get to see WICKED in NYC!!! I would die to go there and see all those shows on broadway!!! LUCKY!!! (said in a Napoleon Dynamite voice)

Pat--we should go to NYC!! We could sing along during the show and tick all the other show-goers off!! hehehehe!!!

Love your Napolean voice, April! You've got it down pat. Speaking of pat...no Pat, I haven't heard the soundtrack all the way through. I have heard some from my daughter though and I want to see it. Maybe I'll surprise her with tickets for her birthday.

Let me know how you like it, April!

You blessed little thing, you. Talk about good angels.

I confess. We had the chance to buy tickets and go with my in-laws and I turned it down because I don't want my MIL to spoil the experience. I know. Crazy.

And did I mention that I'm a closet broadway singer? Yeah. Kind of hating the whole wickedness of my ways. Bit off me own nose, that's what I did.

April said...

Annie-I feel your pain...not with the MIL thing my MIL was actually awesome, but with others ruining an experience for you. How about this, I will go and sing my heart out for you, in my head, because I'm sure all the other patrons didn't got to hear me sing!

OMGosh-totally reminds me of a story when I actually ASKED someone to stop singing at a performance of The Phantom because I was there to here the cast sing and not them! LOL!!! (It was a bunch of HS kids, and not my peers. I couldn't have done that if it were my peers!)

robin said...

who's whining? I'm just telling the truth.

Tiffany said...

Oh my, what if you had thrown them away?!?!?!?!? That would have made me so so sad. I threw away some professionally taken pictures my MIL got of my kids. She paid money for them and they ended up in my recycle bin lost forever. At least until they are recycled. Maybe they will be recycled into new paper for pictures of new kids.

April said...

OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOO Tiffany!!! That is horrible!!! That is way worse than misplacing my WICKED tickets! They were willing to replace them. You can't replace pictures taken in a studio!!! How sad!!! You know what is just as sad? Saving your pictures on a computer and waving good-bye to 5 years worth of pictures as your computer crashes because you didn't back them up anywhere else!!!!

Yikes, I need to heed that warning. Best of luck with everything, I will add my prayers into the mix.
