HA! You thought it was because of all the postings about some wonderful lunch some of you got to got to at the OG the other day......didn't cha? HUH????
Ok, I have to admit, I was jealous that I wasn't there to try on Kristina's famous snuggie, or see Pat make her famous face {again}, or see Shelle's cute gap in her teeth, or smell the bread that Val made, or see those ruby red slippers that Barbaloot was wearing.
FINE!
I was irritated that I couldn't be there to see the ultimate dummy, Crash herself and her wayward brother! Who wouldn't be irritated?
But I am over that {almost}.
I have a
BIGGER problem on my hands people!!!!
I have been sending messages through my wonderful message center to my not so wonderful mortgage company who I shall name!
Countrywide Mortgage was recently bought out by
Bank of America. I am
NOT impressed.
We refinanced our little piece of heaven {hell} that we have been fixing up and when we refinanced asked the powers that be to make sure that our HELOC was included in the new loan.
"No problem." "We can do that." "Is there anything else we can do for you Mr. & Mrs. E?"
And why would I think there was anything wrong? Everytime I logged into my account to pay, there was my HELOC. Showing my balance and when I owed my next payment of $0.
We have never used it. But we want to. We want to now! But we can't. Yet no one at the former Countrywide and current Bank of America can tell us why. Why our account shows that we have such and such funds there, but we can't use them.
So, after 5 months of asking nicely, I don't feel so nice any more. After 5 months of, "We'll have an answer for you next week." And then the phone never rings.......I am HOPPING MAD!
I have sent 3 messages over 3 weeks through my personal account to them on the matter. NOTHING.
Yet their message board says they will get to me in 1 to 2 business days. {LIAR}
Now they have wasted far too much of my time and energy. And they have promised me something they have not delivered on.
You don't want me mad Bank of America! Cause I have a blog. Now, I will write about you on my blog. And now I will label you on my blog. And when my friends go to refinance their homes, or purchase a home I know who to tell them NOT to finance through.
What would you do if you were in my situation?

Bombing? I got nothin'.
We missed you on Saturday!
I am shocked! Not that you missed me but that you've got nothin! The gathering must have drained you. ;)
Well aren't you bitter!!!! I would be too...
ugh - our HELOC got locked up when the economy took a dive... and they (NOT bank of america this time) conveniently neglected to tell us it was locked up until we put an ENTIRE paycheck in there... leaving us nothing to live off of for two weeks...
sorry - it sucks... it really does!
Don't Mess with the Bloggers!
Ohhhh Queen, I'm bitter! We have NEVER touched it in 5 years....and when we need it to finish off our house, it's not there!
T what drives me nuts is the office saying they will do something and then ignoring calls from us. RUDE!
I would be willing to join you in a Toilet Papering extravaganza, if it would help.
I hate it when things like this happen.
Yikes-what a pain! I've got absolutely nothing in the way of advice---but I'll be happy to listen to you vent:)
And it would have been awesome if you had made it to the lunch! One day...
Oh NHC!! It has been sooo long since I have been toilet papering....hmmmm....
Barbaloot...thanks! Venting helps...a ton. Too bad the people causing all of this aren't willing to listen and take responsibility for their mistakes. It was because of a mistake on their part that we are unable to touch the HELOC.
hahaha wv says expurge....i am purging my words!
Can you call?
I would call every hour and asked to speak to the same person.
A sneek wheel gets oiled.
BofA is our mortgage company as well and all I can say is if I could refinance tomorrow with another company I would!! We had massive repairs done from water damage, costing over $12,000. Since it was over $10,000 the insurance had to put BofA on the check as well as us and the contractor. Well 73 days after BofA got the check to sign off on they are still sitting on the funds and wont release them untill they have an inspector come and check the repairs, that is what they said 2 months ago, and again yesterday. I have to make all the phone calls, they never contact us via phone or mail. Now the contractor is putinga lein on our house to protect themselves! Guess where the office is located, (that is handeling this) Phoenix AZ. We just so happen to be headed that way in a few weeks and we will be dropping in to have a little chat! I'll let you know how it goes! I feel for ya!! Stupid BofA!!
I got TP'd just last night. Want me to go gather it up and send it on? recycling is important you know. I hate anything to do with banking, mortgages, well basically money at this point. Good luck-Sorry to say I don't have much faith in them coming through for you my dear!
p.s. I don't dare ask my aunt if she has room for a table and chairs. They are coming camping for a week and I'm pretty sure they are loaded- but thanks so much for the offer. It is killing me because if it is yours, then I know it is cute!!
I am thinking that we just need to boycott all financial institutions. K? Don't even get me started. You know who else sucks? Aurora. NEVER go with them. GMAC is also screwed up!
Can you just walk right into a BofA and demand to speak with a mortgage person? I would take care of this one in person for sure!
Good luck!
Kritta we have called, and have gone up the ladder in the West Jordan office. Now they are always out of the office. Convenient, huh?
Spring...our office is 5 hours from us...weird how they do that. Good luck to you!
Well Sandi guess what? It is just a table, no chairs, sorry, but she will bring it up when she comes! (a couple of weeks after Riley's wedding)!!! Suz asked and she said she would!!! YIPPEEE!! Now you just need to find some chairs!
Youngblood I hate to say it, but it's nice to see that it just isn't me! I can't believe how many banks/mortgage companies have screwed up!
Kazzy, I would have to drive up to West Jordan and HOPE they are in their office. They haven't been in lately.
You are a true pal my dear :)
HI April! Down with BOA!
I laughed at this post. I'm actually here in St. George with my wayward brother. He laughed when you said that.
Hey, breakfast is going to be hard for me this morning. I'll email you and tell you exactly, but I PINKY PROMISE You I will see you very soon.
Explain the meaning of HELOC (or not. You can just leave us dummies in the dark)
Heidi, it is a home equity line of credit.
Crash! hehehe! I figure since he has a dummy as a sister he MUST have a sense of humor! I too have been wayward...it takes one to know one! Can't wait to hear from you!
Heidi, sorry my dear for being presumptuous. How rude! Thanks for clearing it up NHC!
I can't even put a coherent thought together because Giggles is having a bad morning.. scratch that... week. He is currently in his room crying (temper tantrum) and has been for 15 minutes (wonder how much longer it will last???)
he's not giggling now!!!
Poor giggles....maybe we should send him to Bank of America!
Yeah, I got nothing either. I usually just sic my husband on such annoying companies. Good luck! :)
Hey a few years back when I had a home... we had the same problem. When we refinanced and stuff another bank bought out our bank and all He*# broke loose.
The worst experience... yet I can't think of that banks name! That seriously sucks!
aaaahhhhh @ missing my "cute" gap... that was a nice way of putting it! lol!
I would pretend that I was an immigrant from another country and make the person on the phone REALLY explain what was going on.
Ask your questions and then if they do not give a satisfactory answer say..."Excusee no speaka english very well - say again pleesay'".
Either they find answers or keep transfering you to the top.
Hi - found you from Blok Thoughts. How fun you have a missionary in Madagascar - I hadn't heard of anyone going there before. Cool.
Love your blog :) Have a great day.
we just recently purchased our first home and have another company to add to your list of screwy motrgage companys/banks
Coldwell banker. no one was ever able to answer questions for us - including our personal mortgage specialist -(who said she would be at our beck and call because we were first time buyers... )
HAH
I have sent many a hate mail to them with NO response at all. I have told all our friends, neighbors and co workers who NOT to use for their mortgage needs and am glad I am not the only one taking this stand.
sorry about your experiences... I would do exactly what you did.
