So A Lady Walks Into A Doctor's Office....

Why, why, why, must we step on that infernal scale EVERY time we walk into the doctor's office?

WHY?????

I think next time when I am asked to step on the scale I will say...."after you!" And see what happens.

You know your weight is then catalogued and followed with a follow up comment. The comment to me was...."Oh, you seem to have gained a few pounds."

{Gasp} "Really?" <----(sarcasm)

"No wonder my belt has seemed a little tighter." (Looking for whole to crawl into.)

But not to worry! After my two shots of thyrogen and my radioidine pill, I don't feel like eating. So, when I go in to visit the doctor in a few weeks, my belt will fit just fine!

I step on the scale backwards, so I don't have to look at the number. I know, it's ridiculous.

Hilarious!
I think I agree with your method...."after you"
I told the nurse when I went in that I would not step on the scale. I think the way I said it she was scared and she didn't make me.
It has nothing to do with why I was there.
Unless they want to put me on antidepressants after.

This would be why I never go to the doctor.

Well, if it makes a difference...you don't look like you've gained 4 pounds. I think I might use your "after you" also, seems like an excellent plan! :) Do you need....WANT anything? I will bring you a bag of twix if you'd like! :) Love ya'! Hang in there!

I hate hate hate scales. I never step on the one in my house. And once someone invents a machine that measures sagging I am really doomed.

Well I agree with the Papas, you do not look like you have gained 4 pounds. Maybe you should gain more weight, because you look a little on the skinny side, in my opinion.

Okay yea, I just never look at the scale it slopes me down a hill of depression and old high school nightmares, so I just get on and look the other way.

And I can't believe NHC totally didn't tell us she was in town! Way to catch her!!!

Kristina-I wish I had thought of that a couple of years back!

Tauna-I got to the point where I refused to get on the scale...it wasn't pretty.

Barb-I don't go to certain doctors for certain exams...bad April! hehehehe!

Suz-Thanks nice lady! I wish I could eat Twix! I still have another 8 days, but who's counting.

Kazzy- I don't even HAVE scales in my house I hate them so much! They are of the devil!

Wendy-Awww...thanks sis! You rock. And a couple of years back after I passed the magical number of 170...I stopped getting on the scales. I didn't want to know, and I didn't want anyone else to know either.

NHC-Thanks! Isn't Suz cute? I would rather not gain any weight since I've dealt with weight issues my WHOLE life. You know, being put on a diet in the fifth grade and all.

Lezlie-YOU are cute! and little! and cute! so there! and thanks for the hugs!

Shelle-Weight can be such a heavy issue. And I agree, you do have to watch that NHC...she is a slippery one. :)

Wendy, you are so darn skinny! I wouldn't even worry about it for one second if I were you. I am sorry that you are still having to deal with this health problem. Hugs! (P.S. love your shelfari book choices!)

Now your verifier say jibed.

What a funny verifier. So in tune with your mood.

Do you ever feel like you're being jibed by life?

Good luck. I didn't realize it was THAT time again.
