I {heart} Cafe Rio

It's not just the food that's amazing, but the people you see.

I've been there twice this week alone for lunch. I'm spoiled, I know. I was there on Wednesday eating lunch with two coworkers when a cute lady just plopped down in the seat beside me. I screamed. We hugged. We laughed.

We made arrangements for a lunch date to celebrate our February birthdays and we thought we better bring along this lady too. Her birthday is in February as well. Weird! Let's set the date ladies!

As I was leaving I walked by a table and recognized a young man sitting there. I knew him when he was this big (pointing to my knee). Fine! He was taller than my knee, but he was very young. I knew him before he was all grown up and had a family of his own. I knew him before my youngest was born. My youngest turns 19 this summer. {SIGH} I am old.

So today when I went to Cafe Rio with my hubby for lunch, I thought the coolest part was standing in line and finding a wad of cash on the ground. But noooooo! Although my hubby would disagree with that!

The coolest part was meeting this lady's daughter.

I'm pretty sure i freaked her out. But she's going to have to get used to being the daughter of a famous Dummy.

I {heart} Cafe Rio. I have to go more often!

I heart CR too! And how cool to run into those people!

I agree with the idea of knowing you but never having met (even though I DO know you). Blogging is so awesome.

Kristina-I know right? Finding cash on the floor that no one has claimed yet, running into a blog friend, kids who make me feel ancient, and kids of famous bloggers...all in one week. WOW!

Wendy-you crack me up sista! I didn't run into Shelle there, T and I just talked about getting together with her since all of our birthdays are in Feb, silly rabbit! Sounds like next time I am at CR I will have to keep my eye out for H#1, or just make an announcement after they yell "free meal"!

Kazzy-I am loving reading your posts cause it is catching me up on the time in between our college days and I'm getting to KNOW you better!

Tauna-AAAAHHHHH! A cutie and a Feb birthday! We have to meet and have lunch at CR!

Wow that is amazing. When i read Crash's post, I wondered if she was going to St George. What are the chances? Hope you guys all have fun at lunch and eat some pork salad for me, k.

I made the mistake of getting tortilla soup at somewhere other than CR and I was so sad that I did... it just wasn't the same.

Yay - dang - I knew I should have been at Cafe Rio more often this week (coworkers just HAD to go to Applebee's on Friday instead...)

Love Cafe Rio - although I should have just gotten water because the lemonade was PURE syrup!!!

Lunch this week? Where the heck is that Shelle chick when I need her? oh wait, I know this because she's over posting her cute kids' pix on FB :)

OMGOSH! I LUB that you ran into my daughter at Cafe Rio. She told me the whole story and how weird it was to have someone come racing up to her yelling IT'S CRASH's DAUGHTER! It made me way more credible though so thanks. She said all of her soccer friends were like "WHAT THE WHAT? Is your mom famous?"

Very cool!

And my daughter asked around and no one on her team lost any more mula than $1 so YOU'RE RICH!

Wahoo!

So jealous that you saw T. Happy Birthday to all of you. When are you guys going to lunch? I might be going to St. George the weekend of March 5th. I'd love to have some girl time.

Your verifier says factroni. hahaha That's Italian for "That's a fact."

NHC-I am not a fan of pork so I side with the salmon taco...YUMMY, but I'm sure I can talk my hubby into eating a pork salad for you. But don't worry, when i go back I will pay more attention to the sign that said there is a CR opening in VEGAS!!!!

Toad-a knock-off tortilla soup...aahhhh dirty!

T-YES! lunch this week, next week will be a bear! I have a big deadline. Boooo! Now where is the slippery one Shelle? She's probably still OD'ing on Valentine's candy. hehehe!

Lezlie-next time I am up by you! We are soooo going!

Crash-glad I could make a fool of myself in order to give you more street creds with your daughter! hehehe! Did she tell you I had to take the pic twice cause my hubby didn't save the first one? So as she wound around the line for a second time I jumped her again and freaked her out for a second time! It was awesome!

Sandi- GET OUT! See what you're missing? You only have aliens, I have real people. hahaha!

Emma-It is soooo yummy I had to go twice! :) And lucky for me the second time I found a wad of cash!

Sandi said...

Hey there is nothing wrong with aliens April dear. So do I know the young man you ran into?

April said...

No Sandi, I don't think you know him, he grew up in Spanish Fork....I knew his family when we lived above a mortuary there.

Dang you!!! I saw on FB that you were there again today... what's up with that????? Did you know that Cafe Rio pork burritos can travel from S Jordan to Reno in the back seat and be eaten upon arrival without ill affect? True story. I'm not sure how it would be from southern Utah, but I think you need to bring me some Cafe Rio post haste :)

April said...

Swirl- I bet you miss Crash! My first memory of blogging is of reading about you and Crash taking kupcakes to kute kasie. Sandi told me to go read about it.

Dear Miss Nevada- I will bring you pork burritos if you climb a certain fence and go investigate a cool looking house.

Oh my gosh! I don't think I can pass on that offer :D

Sadly I live 5 minutes away from the Cafe Rio in Draper. This has let to many cheese enchiladas finding their way into my tummy and eventually to my butt, hips and thighs. But April I am with ya...I heart Cafe Rio.

April said...

I {heart} cheese, but cheese does not {heart} me so I stick with the salmon tacos! YUMMY!
